Bath Towels: the buying guide
GSM is weight per square metre: 400 to 500 GSM dries fast and suits humid cities; 550 to 700 GSM feels plush but takes longer to dry. Standard bath towel size is about 70 x 140 cm; a 75 x 150 cm "bath sheet" wraps fully. Look for 100% combed or ring-spun cotton and colour-fast dyes. A family of four needs two towels each so one can dry. Wash before first use and skip fabric softener; it reduces absorbency.
